Happy Holidays

I wanted to post something as I've been a bit out of touch. With the Dew Tour just before Christmas and preparing for that, traveling back to Norway for the Holidays, its been hard to post any new blogs.

Here's a quick recap of the last couple of weeks.

The Breckenridge Dew Tour was super fun. Although I didn't make finals, I'm not too concerned about it. I was happy with my riding in practice and just had an unfortunate couple of runs in the qualifying rounds. Oh well, next time! My buddies Torstein and Haldor killed it though.

Now I'm back in Norway spending time with my friends and family in and around Oslo. It's finally feeling like winter over here with cold temps and snow. I was planning to compete in the Artic Challenge on Jan 2-5 but due to warmer temps earlier in the month of December they had to postpone the event until March.

I have a busy January ahead of me. I fly back to Colorado in early Jan. We did a contest with Keystone to "win a day" riding with yours truly and this day is going to be Jan 11. Jan 12 I'll be in Keystone for the Zumiez 100k party and then off to Utah on Jan 13 for the 2nd stop of Dew Tour. They are having it at Snow Basin just outside of Ogden, Utah. I've never been but it should be good. I hear the resort is sick!

After that I'll probably head back to Colorado and ride the Keystone park to get ready for X Games in Aspen at the end of the month. Keystone has some really good jump lines with a couple 70 footers in the main park line! Finally some good sized jumps to practice on!

Thanks for checking in. I hope everyone has a great holiday season! Here are some photos from an autograph signing I did with Toyota during the Dew Tour in Breckenridge, Co last week.

Air & Style Update

Well Air and Style went pretty well for me. Historically I've never done well at this event. Yesterday I took 3rd in the finals. In the first round I was paired up against Travis Rice. I won round one and moved to round 2 against my good buddy Torstein Horgmo. Again I was able to win the round and move into the finals. In the finals I crashed on my first two runs and it was down to one final run. On my 3rd and final run, I was the very last rider to drop and was sitting in last place. I was able to pull off the f/s double cork 1080 and take the 3rd place position while Peetu and Grilc took 2nd and 1st. Congrats to those guys, they rode really well!

Holy Moly, Andreas Wiig is on Forum Snowboards!

The rumors are true. As winter has arrived, so has Norwegian phenom Andreas Wiig to Forum’s pro team. Joining Peter Line, Eddie Wall, Pat Moore, Jake Welch, Stevie Bell, John Jackson, Nic Sauve and Daniel Ek, Andreas is set to give it 110% this season. Whether riding the park, at a slopestyle event or filming in the backcountry, Wiig continually pushes his limits.

“It’s an honor to be part of such a talented and progressive team, a team that is setting the standard in snowboarding today,” says Wiig. “I already know most of the guys on the team and I’m looking forward to riding with them. It’s going to be good times.”

“There is no better fit for Forum than Andreas. Forum is a cutting-edge freestyle brand and that is exactly who Andreas is, always taking it to a new level,” states Director of Team Marketing, Bryan Knox. “We are all extremely happy to be working with a rider of this caliber.”

Thinking back to when his snowboarding career began and how he got to where he is today, Andreas is looking forward to focusing more on filming and shooting photos. Although he’ll continue to participate in select contests globally, the emphasis of Wiig’s upcoming season seems to be reconnecting with his roots.
