The 2012 Vans Andreas Wiig IV Snowboard boot was again selected for The Snowboard Mag's annual Platinum Picks awards. Snowboardmag.com describes Wiig's latest boot as: for the rider that means business, still rides a camber board and whose confidence defines his snowboarding, the Andreas is the boot for you. This boot embodies the quote: “Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” The responsiveness of the Andreas turns your feet into a brutal dictator that wills the rest of your setup into submission through simple intimidation. With a variable flex control system that leans toward the more aggressive side met with a custom forming liner and Outlast foot beds; ruthless as this boot may be, it gets results. Ian Ruhter is one photographer who has been pursuing the limits of photography, constantly searching for the next level in artistic expression. He is always finding time for his projects, even while traveling and shooting Andreas with the Forum and Foursquare pros. His latest endeavor, the Wet Plate Project, takes on the exotic, and entirely old-school, collodion process of shooting and then developing film directly onto a sheet of metal. Shooting the action and then developing right in the field is painstaking and dangerous, which is probably the reason why this photographic process has never been used before in snowboarding. ESPN contributor Jesse Huffman recently sat Ruhter down to talk about the Wet Plate Project. To read more from the interview with Ian online visit espn.go.com.

September 28th was a big day for the city of Huntington Beach, and Forum Snowboards. It marked the World Premiere of Forum’s new video, “Vacation”. People flocked from all over to grace the Hunting Beach Pier and watch, what could be one of the top snowboarding films of the year. Everyone has a pretty beastly part. From Niko Cioffi, Cam Pierce, Nic Sauve, and Stevie Bell’s rail slaughtering, to Daniel Ek, Austen Sweetin, Andreas Wiig, Pat Moore and Alex Oestreng’s jump mastery. It was all pretty amazing.
